The Iowa Championship Open Water Swim Series offers a variety of races designed for all skill levels, ensuring a supportive environment for beginners while challenging elite athletes. Each event is crafted to promote growth and safety, thorough water testing, and no hidden insurance costs, making it accessible for everyone.

Series Scoring
All athletes earn points using the following formula
Points = based on place in age group (overall winners will score points based on place in age group)
200points for the winner of each age group decreasing by 5 points for each place behind 1st place in the age group (We will use age groups as determined by each race for this scoring)
First in age group: 200pts
Second in age group: 195 points
Third in age group: 190 points
Fourth in age group: 185 points
Fifth in age group: 180 points
And so on
Points for each athlete’s top 3 race finishes will be added to create a series total which will then be ranked against others in their age group to determine final rankings. Series age group awards will be given out to age group 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in age groups as determined by their birthday on the date of the last race of the series.
